AMPERSAND EXTENSIONS FOR HTML

As of May 26, 2000

This document contains the ampersand extensions for the HTML language. There are two columns of information and, for each line in each column there are four parts: First a character will yield the result if using the Netscape Navigator Browser (Those escape characters shown as a percent sign (%) are not supported in the Netscape Browser). Second is the character indicating what will be displayed if using the Microsoft Internet Explorer (IE) (an asterisk (*) in this position indicates that the sequence is not supported in the Internet Explorer). Immediately following these two single character displays is the ampersand escape sequence itself which, in turn is followed by a text explanation of what the sequence is supposed to represent.
