The Following was copied from the Gnadenhutten Moravian Church Record, Vol II, page 420 (Funerals):
Jonathan Winch - A widower member of the church; died on 18th [???] of infirmities at age 86 yrs, 10 months & 19days.He was born Dec 30, 1804 in Graceham, Md, came to Gnadenhutten with his parents as an infant. He was confirmed when 19 yrs of age by Rev.Rauschenberger; May 13, 1832 he was married to sister Caroline Juliana Peter; she being called to her eternal home after 56 years of married life.
He was a carpenter by trade & labored diligently as long as his strength allowed until incapicated by Rheumatic troubles. Naturally of quick and retiring disposition, he was not free to speak of his Religious experiencees, but his uprightness of character was best evidence of his sincerity ...
Funeral services were held in the church [???] Heb. 13:14. Bishop VanVleck assisted in the service.
