COMMENTARY:
It is believed the following information, initially given by half-brother, Robert and later confirmed by Half-brother, William, will clear up the discrepancies about who were Richard's Parents, Grandparents and who raised him:
Subject: Belle Pitcher, Daughter Dorothea and Grandson Richard
William Giering (016_051) is the second husband of Belle Pitcher. She had a daughter, Dorothea, by her first husband: Mont Kirkpatrick. Dorothea Kirkpatrick subsequently became the wife of Norman Giering (16_026). Prior to that marriage, however, she (Dorothea) had a son (unknown father) named Richard. By the time Richard was born, Belle was married to William Giering (whether Belle's marriage was annulled or she was divorced or widowed is unknown). William and Belle took Richard in and raised him as their own Son even though he was, in reality, their Grandson.
