There will be funeral services 11 AM Thursday at Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel for Dennis N. Giering of Campbell who passed away Sunday morning at St. Elizabeth Medical Center. Dennis was born December 11, 1951 in Youngstown a son of Vincent S. “Ben” and Martha (Stevens) Giering.
He was employed by Aerolite Extrusion, a member of the Lake Mount Church of Christ in New Waterford, Member of the United Steelworkers of America Local 1331, and enjoyed fishing, camping, and singing. Dennis was a United States Navy Veteran serving from 1971-1975 achieving the rank of E4. He was a Postal Clerk Third Class and served on the USS New Orleans and USS Iwo Jima while in the Navy.
He is survived by his parents of Boardman; his daughter Nicole (Joe) Gear of East Palestine, a sister Deborah Giering and her husband Robert McAllister of New Middletown; and one grandson Shane.
He is preceded in death by a brother Jeffrey W. Giering.
