COMMENTARY:
-- After her husband died, Anna lived at 309 Emmaus Ave. with her son, William J. Dewalt. She died in Allentown Hospital and was buried next to her husband, Cyrus Dewalt, in West End Cemetery in Allentown. Her funeral services were conducted by Rev. William F. Kosman of Salem UCC, Allentown. (Obit in
newspaper 6 September 1944)
-- Cyrus was educated in the public schools in Hanover Twp., Lehigh Co. As a young man, he took up farming. Later he bacame employed in the car shops at Fullerton, the C. A. Dorney Furniture Company, and the Traylor Engineering Company. He was a member of St. John's Union Sunday School, Summit Lawn, Allen Council, No. 753, Jr. O. U. A. M., and Liberty Chamber, O. K. of F., No. 45.
-- Cyrus was married to Anna Maria Laubach at Christ Church, Shoenersville. In 1912 they were living at 628
Oak St., Allentown.
-- Cyrus died at the home of his son, Victor Dewalt, at Summit Lawn at the age of 78 and was buried in West End Cemetery in Allentown. His funeral services were conducted by Rev. William F. Kosman of Salem UCC, Allentown. (Obit in newspaper 25 May 1932)
-- On 11 May 1931 a picture appeared in the Allentown newspaper showing four generations of this Dewalt
family. The caption read "At the left, Cyrus Dewalt, Summit Hill, great-grandfather; William J. Dewalt,
Summit Lawn, grandfather; Earl W. Dewalt, Lanark Manor, local mail carrier and his two sons, Earl, Jr., 11
years and Billy, aged 2 years".
