INFORMATION ON JACOB:
The following is quoted from: THEY CAME TO EMMAUS A History, Compiled by PRESTON A. BARBA, PhD, Litt.D.; Holben Printing, Allentown, Pa. Library of Congress Catalog Card nbr: 60-6693; Page 132:
Jacob Frederick Wuensch was born at Lommersheim in Wuerttemberg November 8, 1768, the son of Bernhard Wuensch and his wife Barbara, nee Scheubel. They came to Pennsylvania in September, 1750. Jacob learned the trade of nailsmith in his early years but later became a pipe- and tinsmith. On March 17, 1772 he married Maria, daughter of Andreas and Catherine Giering, and both were received into the Moravian congregation on September 15, 1776. They had 8 children. Jacob Frederick Wuensch died July 21, 1812.
COMMENTARY:He: Admitted into church congregation: Oct 10, 1762
He came to the New World with his parents in early 1750's.
A disagreement in the records.
Page 70 indicates that Maria had only three children: Child 1, 2 and 4 as above.
Pages 23 and 33 of the Emmaus church records show that Maria and Friedrich (or Jacob Friedrich) had two additional children: the third child and the sixth child as above. Specifically Page 33 indicates that when Johann Bernhardt was baptised, Maria's brother Johannes Giering and sister, Rosina (Giering) Everit were witnesses.
Page 81 identified Magdalena Wuensch as their third daughter, married to Johan Philip Knauss
Page 49 of source item #2 indicates Jacob's middle name is "Friedrich" (a "Friedrich Wuensch" was admitted into the church on Oct 10, 1762 - and Jacob Friedrich would have been 14 at that time) whereas the information received from George Winch (family tree) - see 017_104 - indcates middle name is "Fridrich". Until more information becomes available we use the church records.
