-- Amanda was a member of Dryland Reformed Church. She was also affiliated with the parent's department of
the Butztown Sunday School.
-- Amanda died in her home at Butztown. (Obit in newspaper 14 April 1941)
-- Amanda died intestate. The executors of her estate were sons Clinton E. and Clarence E. Dewalt, who filed an
application for letters of administration and a bond of administration on 26 May 1941. The sureties were Adam Clause and Mark E. Knecht. At the time of her death, Amanda owned no real estate. The tax appraisal of her estate inclued household furnishings and a $500 legacy from Mary E. Gernet.

-- James was a deacon of the Reformed congregation of Dryland Church from May 1888 to May 1892. At the time of his death in 1928, he was listed as a salesman.
-- James died in his home at Butztown. (Obits in "Bethlehem Globe-Times" and "Easton Express", Tuesday, 20 March 1928)
-- James left a will, written 26 January 1926, in which he bequeathed $3500 to each of the children of Clinton E. Dewalt, Clarence E. Dewalt, and Hiram O. Dewalt; and Miriam Dewalt. He appointed Clinton and his wife, Amanda E. Dewalt the executors. He also directed that Clinton was to be the guardian of the minor children and that the money bequeathed to them was to be deposited in the Bethlehem Trust Bank until they reached 28 years of age. The remainder of his estate was bequeathed to his wife, Amanda, as long as she lived and "if she don't marry and no boarders to be kept". After her death, one quarter of the remaining estate was bequeathed to Clinton E. Dewalt, one quarter to Clarence E. Dewalt's children, and the other one half equally divided between -- Clara Dewalt's nine children and Miriam Dewalt.
-- On 2 April 1928 Amanda E. and Clinton E. Dewalt filed an executor's affidavit and an application for letters of administration. The final accounting of James' estate showed that, at the time of his death, he owned a lot and 2 1/2 story brick house at Butztown on William Penn Highway; a tract of 83 acres with a 2 1/2 story brick house, stone bank barn, and six frame sheds in Bethlehem Twp. on the road from William Penn Highway at Butztown to Nazareth Pike at Hecktown; and 3 acres of woodland in Bushkill Twp. on the road from Nazareth to Moorestown.(Estate file #28150, will book #29, pg. 596, Register of Wills, Northampton County courthouse, Easton, PA)
-- Clinton never married or had any known children. He lived most of his life in the old Dewalt homestead in Butztown, PA. He was a member of Dryland UCC at Hecktown.
-- Clinton died of a heart attack while pushing snow from the roof of his home and was buried in Hope Cemetery at Dryland Church. (Obit in "Easton Express", Easton, PA, Monday, 24 March 1958, pg. 22)
