BEN'S PREVIOUS MARRIAGE:Husband Benjamin was previously married(per Rand's letter)and had four children with wife Margaret Blanche (Emery) Williams. Wife died in child birth and Ben hired Delilah to care for children; they subsequently married. Ben learned of Delilah through Blanche's parents who were in someway related to the Sinclair family (see husband to Sophia, Delilah's Aunt.
Rand reports: [Quote]As far as I know, they were never legally adopted by Delilah. As I told You before, we never refered to each other as "Half Brother", or "Half Sister". In fact many people never knew that we were not full brothers and sisters. We were very close to each other for the entire time that they were alive. Unfortunately, they have all passed away. Out of the ten children that Ben fathered, there are only three of us left! Virginia was 19 years old when I was born. Margaret was 15. They both played a big part in raising me. Roger was always my "Big Brother", and took very good care of me through out his lifetime. I would definitely call them part of the family. Add a foot note if you like, But they were
definitely my "Sisters and Brother"[end quote]
